An iron rod removed a chunk of his brain but not his courageous will to live...
In October 1981, Mars Inc. turned down an offer to have M&M’s as key product placement in the hugely popular movie, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. Instead, Hershey agreed to let Reese’s Pieces be used, resulting in sales of that product tripling. In life, sometimes opportunity knocks. The wise answer that door, or at least crack it open to see what lurks on the other side.
Dear Film Enthusiast;
Greetings from Los Angeles. My name is Todd Pliss and, as a filmmaker, my projects have included the upcoming feature film, Life Raft, as well as the award-winning short, Execution at County Jail.
The amazing case of Phineas Gage is an inspirational tale that is one of the most dramatic cases of science in American history, is taught in all psychology and grade-school science classes, but the specifics of this stranger-than-fiction tale have never been fully revealed – until now!!!
The complete story is being told for the first time in my screenplay, The Only Living Man With A Hole In His Head.
The Only Living Man With A Hole in His Head*: (a true story)
After an iron rod blasts through his skull, taking out part of his brain, Phineas Gage enters a journey into changed personality, the P.T. Barnum freak show and driving stage coaches in South America. It ends with medical science forever changed.
Like The Elephant Man, this modestly budgeted production can bring a little-known, but inspirational subject, into the national consciousness in a thought provoking way.
The screenplay has already garnered praise:
Movies dealing with psychological themes and issues have a history of connecting strongly with an audience. A Beautiful Mind (four Oscars!), As Good As It Gets, Rain Man (four Oscars!), Silver Linings Playbook are just a few examples.
Goodwill Media is now raising investment funds to bring Phineas's story to the big screen.
Why would you want to help executive-produce The Only Living Man With A Hole In His Head?
If you are interested in being a part of something special that will touch people and live on likely long after we will, please contact me at (818) 880-4292 or goodwillmedia16@hotmail.com.
Thank you for your time.

Todd Colby Pliss
